About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Veterinary Intern. As a key member of our animal care team, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the veterinary field and develop your skills in animal care and handling.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with animal care and treatment, including administering medications and performing routine procedures.
- Provide basic animal care, including feeding, bathing, and exercising animals under the supervision of our experienced team.
- Clean and maintain animal cages, exam rooms, and other areas of the hospital to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our patients.
- Assist with laboratory procedures, including blood draws and urinalyses, and radiology procedures, including X-rays and ultrasounds.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients and their pets, answering questions and addressing concerns in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned by our experienced team, including administrative tasks and special projects.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; enrollment in a veterinary assistant or technician program preferred.
- Experience working with animals preferred, but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
