Columbus House is a leading provider of homeless services in New Haven, CT. We are seeking a highly motivated Resident Support Specialist to join our team.

This is a part-time position, 16 hours per week, Saturday and Sunday, 8am-4pm. The estimated salary for this position is $17.00 per hour.

The Resident Support Specialist will provide supervision, safety, organization, and program management support to up to 19 homeless clients in need of 24/7 shelter. This includes those in transitional housing and those recuperating from recent medical procedures.

Key qualifications include:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other common desktop applications
  • Able to effectively use the local network of substance abuse, mental health, and social services providers

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Performing hourly wellness rounds on the floor
  • Supervising up to nineteen clients to ensure compliance with all house rules
  • Counseling clients to assist them with following their recovery service plans
