Job Summary

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on our correctional healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of inmates. You will work collaboratively with Registered Nurses (RNs) to deliver compassionate and comprehensive care within a correctional facility setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective systems for identifying, preventing, and controlling communicable diseases. This includes monitoring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Conduct regular assessments of inmates for infectious diseases, providing referrals for community follow-up care and coordinating post-release healthcare needs.
  • Promote a safe and healthy environment for medical staff by conducting monthly safety and sanitation inspections of the facility.
  • Develop and deliver infection control education and training programs for both inmates and staff. Foster positive social skills development within the inmate population.
  • Maintain accountability for inmate well-being and property, adhering to strict safety practices.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a correctional healthcare setting is preferred, but not required.

Licensure & Certification:

  • Current and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
