Job Summary:

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Development Chemist to join our client's team in Burlington, NJ. As a key member of the research and development team, you will be responsible for developing new compounds and improving existing ones to meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze compounds and manage corresponding data tracking to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Define and determine physical and chemical properties for compounds to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Oversee the development and issuance of new formulations for new compounds based on customer requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct investigations of new and old formulations to replace raw materials and enhance performance while minimizing costs.
  • Maintain quality standards and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with the HSE team to update and maintain SDS documents.
  • Prepare technical data information for customers and generate ideas for new product development.
  • Manage tests performed with accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Make recommendations for production line or production lines and trial formulations.
  • Attend and oversee production trials to ensure formulations are being utilized as intended.
  • Attend monthly QA/QC meetings and customer trials as scheduled.
  • Collaborate internally with various departments for R&D-related issues.
  • Provide technical support internally and externally to Production, QC/QA, Sales, and customers as needed.
  • Manage regulatory files, including NSF and UL qualifications and certifications.
  • Participate in annual audits and oversee monitoring of equipment to ensure safety precautions are being followed.
  • Assist in ISO audits and creating, maintaining, and updating R&D ISO documents.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry (not biology).
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment of PVC materials.
  • Highly preferred: experience in a PVC compounding setting.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, with a desired ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt highly preferred.
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of quality control/quality assurance procedures and legal standards.
  • Proven expertise in chemistry relating to surface-interface properties and surface characterization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and competence in other Microsoft Office 365 applications or related programs.
  • Effective promoter of positive culture and relationships using clear and positive communication across the board.
  • Highly detail-oriented.
  • Expert in time management, capable of working under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Oversee task prioritization and delegation when necessary.

This is a direct hire role with a salary range of $70,000 to $75,000 DOE and benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k+match, and PTO.
