Job Title: Warehouse Delivery Driver

Join Oklahoma City Public Schools as a Warehouse Delivery Driver and contribute to the efficient operation of our warehouse. This role is responsible for assisting in the acquisition, storage, and distribution of District supplies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take inventory and make sound judgments to determine if goods are in satisfactory condition for acceptance.
  • Assist shipping and receiving with unloading trucks, opening bales, crates, and other containers as needed, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders, and distributing to associates for processing.
  • Match purchase orders to sales orders, read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions, and assemble orders, including placing on pallets or shelves, relocating to holding or shipping area for distribution.
  • Sort, mark with identifying information, and place inventory on racks, shelves, or bins according to warehouse process.
  • File requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
  • Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for all individuals.
  • Drive to pick up and deliver items utilizing District vehicles as required.
  • Ensure warehouse and work areas are accessible, clean, organized, and safe. Sweep, dust, and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
  • Promote the overall effectiveness of the organization by performing tasks and sharing responsibilities of other members of the Department during peak periods or when there is an overload of duties.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year warehouse experience
  • Must have a valid Oklahoma CDL with Air Brake Endorsement
  • Must be fork lift certified or willing to obtain within six months of date of hire
  • Ability to operate two-wheeler
  • Drive in a safe and legal manner
  • Observe all City, State, and Federal Laws
  • Ability to understand invoices and other similar documents
  • Communicates effectively and courteously with other employees and the general public.
  • Wears the proper safety equipment
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, work in small spaces, walk, and reach overhead.
  • Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
  • Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
