Position Overview:
The Department of Advertising and Public Relations at The University of Alabama is seeking candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor specializing in public relations. The successful applicant will begin their role in August 2025.

Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in areas such as corporate social responsibility, public interest communications, crisis management, and related fields. Responsibilities include teaching a variety of courses, including but not limited to:

  • Public Relations Writing
  • Public Relations Campaigns
  • Public Relations Management
  • Introduction to Audience Analysis
  • Channels and Messaging
  • Specialized courses aligned with the candidate's expertise

Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Doctorate in Public Relations, Advertising, Mass Communication, Communication, or a closely related field, completed by the appointment start date.
- A record of scholarly activity in reputable journals or other academic outlets.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in advertising, public relations, or related fields.
Preferred:
- Evidence of potential for securing external funding.
- Interest in leading multidisciplinary research teams.
- Commitment to fostering diversity in thought and experience.
