Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist PRN to join our team. As a Radiologic Technologist PRN, you will be responsible for acquiring high-quality diagnostic radiographic images for a range of basic to complex imaging procedures in assigned areas of Radiology. Your primary goal will be to provide optimal patient care while adhering to radiation safety regulations and infection control standards established by Parkland and accreditation agencies.

**Responsibilities:**

• Acquire quality diagnostic radiographic images for basic to complex imaging procedures
• Adapt procedures and technical factors in relation to patient conditions and history
• Participate in quality review program
• Understand and adhere to radiation safety regulations and infection control standards
• Utilize technical knowledge and skills to perform procedures accurately and in a timely manner
• Complete exam charges and image documentation in a timely manner
• Administer contrast material in the correct dosage, route, and observe patients for adverse reactions
• Enter accurate patient exam data into the electronic health record
• Maintain equipment, including running quality assurance checks and notifying supervisor of maintenance needs
• Maintain a record of quality assurance tests to ensure that equipment runs efficiently and effectively
• Transport patients to and from radiographic area as needed and consult with physicians or other healthcare providers regarding x-ray orders, performed procedures, and protocol

**Requirements:**

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with certification in Radiography (R) within 3 months of hire
• Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) - Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification 6 months of hire
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS Level CPR course completion card or obtain certification during initial orientation at Parkland

**Accountabilities:**

• Identify ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction
• Make recommendations to supervisor, implement, and monitor results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland
• Stay abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure
• Maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the area
• Develop effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans
