About the Role

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Criminal Investigator to join our team. As a key member of our law enforcement division, you will be responsible for conducting thorough and impartial investigations into a wide range of crimes, including those involving veterans and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct investigations into crimes such as homicide, assault, theft, and other serious offenses
  • Collect and analyze evidence, including physical evidence, witness statements, and other relevant information
  • Interview witnesses and suspects, and prepare detailed reports of findings
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and VA personnel to share information and coordinate efforts
  • Testify in court as needed to present findings and evidence
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a security clearance
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have at least one year of experience in law enforcement or a related field
Working Conditions

The selected candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with frequent exposure to stressful and potentially hazardous situations. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
