Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Claims Adjuster to lead our Property Damage Claims unit as a Claims Management Leader. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with State mandated claims handling guidelines and assuring proper investigation and conclusions of claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a team of adjusters to achieve exceptional results
  • Conduct file and diary reviews to monitor adjuster performance and ensure compliance with company quality standards
  • Place authority levels on claim files and approve settlement checks within authority
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve claim settlement and customer service levels
  • Oversee the implementation and monitoring of procedures to ensure effectiveness and compliance
  • Determine training needs of the department and establish training programs
  • Work with other staff members and departments to address potential concerns
  • Develop and manage a cost-effective claim handling strategy
  • Identify systems issues and suggest enhancements
  • Manage administrative functions of the unit, including reviewing and assigning new losses, screening and selecting candidates, and conducting performance appraisals
Requirements
  • 5+ years of auto liability claims experience, with supervisory experience preferred
  • 5+ years of managing personal auto files
  • Strong technical and administrative background in auto claims handling
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with company policy and procedures
  • Good leadership, training, and development skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to pass written examinations required by state statutes to become a licensed claim
