Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Perform various medical procedures, including fetal monitoring, blood draws, and injections.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and answering questions.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to the development of care plans.
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, technologies, and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of West Virginia or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months.
  • One year of experience in Labor and Delivery or a related field.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to lift, move, and position patients, as well as stand for long periods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
