Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments to evaluate residents' mental health status
- Formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans based on clinical findings
- Develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management and therapy options
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure top-tier psychiatric care for residents
- Prescribe and administer psychiatric medications as necessary
- Monitor and adjust medication regimens to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects
- Provide evidence-based psychotherapy and counseling to residents
- Implement therapeutic techniques to address a wide range of psychiatric conditions
- Offer education and support to residents and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options
- Promote mental health awareness and wellness among residents
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Ensure timely and thorough documentation of all assessments and interventions
Requirements:
- Valid license as a Registered Nurse; completion of Advanced Practice Nurse Program for Clinical Nurse Specialist or Certified Mental Health Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state in which you've applied
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
- Active and unrestricted DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in long-term care facilities
- Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners will maintain clinical competency & collaboration with Psychiatrist
- Direct experience with long-term care communities is preferred as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
- Ability to travel within territory (75 mile radius of home residence)
- Active and unrestricted driver's license
