Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

As an Electroencephalography Technician, you will be responsible for conducting routine, urgent, and long-term monitoring for non-invasive diagnostic electroencephalograms. Your duties will include:

  • Preparing and calibrating equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Explaining the EEG procedure to patients and ensuring their comfort.
  • Applying electrodes and sensors while performing necessary physiological calibrations.
  • Communicating with neurologists regarding EEG requests and assisting with interpretation tasks.
  • Conducting cerebral death studies on patients of all ages.
  • Participating in on-call duties as required by the department.
Qualifications Required
  • Completion of an EEG program or a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • At least one year of experience as an EEG technologist.
  • Preferred experience with both pediatric and adult patients.
  • Registered EEG technologist certification is preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • This position operates on a day shift schedule with rotating weekends.
