Position: Safety Coordinator for Construction
Industry: Utility Scale Solar EPC Projects
Job Overview:
As a Safety Coordinator for Construction within Utility Scale Solar EPC Projects, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety and health of all personnel engaged in the construction activities. You will focus on fostering a secure work environment and executing effective safety programs to minimize risks and avert accidents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute detailed safety policies and procedures tailored to utility scale EPC solar projects.
- Perform regular site evaluations to detect potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards.
- Work in collaboration with project managers, engineers, and contractors to incorporate safety measures into project planning and timelines.
- Deliver safety training and orientation for all personnel, including subcontractors and vendors, to cultivate a culture of safety awareness.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and devise corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Assess and monitor the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives, providing recommendations for enhancements.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to construction safety in utility scale EPC solar projects.
- Maintain precise records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections to verify compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with project teams to formulate emergency response plans and conduct drills to evaluate their effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in construction safety management, ideally within utility scale EPC solar projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and other pertinent safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and engage personnel at all levels.
- Adept at analyzing data, identifying trends, and developing strategies to enhance safety performance.
- Preferred certifications in relevant safety programs such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety, First Aid/CPR, and Fall Protection.
- Proficient in utilizing safety management software and tools.
