Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Detention Aide to join our team at Government Jobs. As a key member of our detention facility, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for inmates and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of entry-level support activities, including sanitation, cleaning, and utility duties.
  • Operate basic computer terminals and assist with data entry as needed.
  • Control access to and within the detention facility/housing unit, ensuring the safety and security of all individuals.
  • Coordinate and document all movement within the facility, including inmate transfers and visitor access.
  • Monitor closed-circuit television cameras, telephones, alarm systems, and intercom panels to maintain a secure environment.
  • Work closely with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
