Job Overview

The Lead Maintenance Technician operates under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager and is tasked with executing a wide range of responsibilities to install, diagnose, repair, and maintain production and facility machinery in accordance with safety, predictive, and preventive maintenance protocols. This role is crucial in supporting the company’s operational objectives and overall business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. **Machine and Equipment Uptime**

a. Collaborate with the maintenance manager to ensure optimal machine and equipment functionality.

b. Complete assigned maintenance tasks with efficiency and precision.

2. **Facility and Equipment Upkeep**

a. Conduct predictive and preventive maintenance on all machinery, equipment, and facilities under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager.

b. Communicate any findings or concerns to the Maintenance Manager promptly.

3. **Organizational Maintenance**

a. Maintain the maintenance and parts area in a clean and orderly fashion, ensuring safety and accessibility at all times.

4. **Specialized Projects**

a. Prepare and configure new or existing machinery for production runs, guided by the Maintenance Manager.

b. Support the Maintenance Manager in executing special projects as needed.

Supervisory Role:

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Valid Driver's License.

3. Understanding of equipment and facility maintenance.

4. Familiarity with basic electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and plumbing systems.

Preferred Qualifications (Training Provided):

1. Ability to read and interpret machine schematics and troubleshooting manuals.

2. Proficient in basic computer applications (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word).

3. Experience using overhead cranes.

4. Knowledge of general safety practices.

5. Familiarity with applicable quality standards.

6. Proficiency in relevant IQMS software modules.

Work Environment:

Employees may encounter fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. Some tasks will be performed in a manufacturing setting where noise levels can be elevated.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.

While executing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear. This role is physically demanding and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the workday. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items exceeding 55 pounds. Additionally, the employee is required to stand, walk, use hands for handling or feeling, and reach with hands and arms. Climbing stairs and ladders is also necessary.

Position Type:

This is a full-time position, typically scheduled Monday through Friday, with first shift hours from 7:00 AM to 3:15 PM. Overtime may be required.
