Job Title: Childcare Assistant - Part-time

Greater Jasper Consolidated Schools is seeking a qualified Childcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the lead and associate teachers to assist with the basic and instructional needs for children up to approximately five years of age.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with implementing the daily program of appropriate developmental experiences.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment.
  • Ensure compliance of all childcare center requirements as a Legally Licensed Exempt Provider (LLEP).
  • Work with team members, volunteers and guests in the program.
  • Assist with helping children meet educational milestones through personalized instruction and other supplemental assistance.
  • Address basic interpersonal skills such as sharing, taking turns and asking permission in the classroom.
  • Help children with basic needs such as diaper changing, feeding, etc.
  • Assist with supervision of children in all settings.
  • Complete continuing education hours per State requirements.
  • Maintain a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere for staff and children.
  • Perform classroom related and other duties as requested.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Experience in a childcare setting preferred.
Work Hours:

20 hours/week, 7:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. or 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., 183 Days/School Year.

Compensation:

Hourly Rate - $12.00/hour.
