Job Title: Childcare Assistant - Support Staff

Greater Jasper Consolidated Schools is seeking a qualified Childcare Assistant to support our preschool program. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, First Aid/CPR Certification, and experience in a childcare setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with implementing the daily program of appropriate developmental experiences.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all childcare center requirements as a Legally Licensed Exempt Provider (LLEP).
  • Work with team members, volunteers, and guests in the program.
  • Assist with helping children meet educational milestones through personalized instruction and other supplemental assistance.
  • Address basic interpersonal skills such as sharing, taking turns, and asking permission in the classroom.
  • Help children with basic needs such as diaper changing, feeding, etc.
  • Assist with supervision of children in all settings.
  • Complete continuing education hours per State requirements.
  • Maintain a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere for staff and children.
  • Perform classroom-related and other duties as requested.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Experience in a childcare setting preferred
Reports To:
  • Preschool Coordinator
  • Building Principal
  • Lead Teacher
Work Hours:

40 hours/week, 7:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., 183 Days/School Year

Compensation:

Starting Hourly Rate - $13.00/hour, Public Employee Retirement Fund Contribution, Single Health Insurance Plan
