About the Role and Organization:
We are seeking a dedicated Violin & Viola Instructor to contribute to our dynamic music center. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about teaching violin and viola to students across various skill levels, particularly focusing on developing young beginners.

Position Summary
This position emphasizes maintaining high teaching standards. The Instructor will provide both individual and group lessons, showcasing playing techniques and collaborating effectively with students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a nurturing educational atmosphere
  • Establish strong relationships with students and their families to ensure open communication
  • Offer expert musical instruction through practical demonstrations and play alongside students
  • Oversee studio operations, including recruitment, scheduling, and communication tasks
  • Participate in string department initiatives and support the mission of MacPhail Center for Music

Qualifications

Education: Degree or certification in music or music education

Experience: At least 3 years of teaching experience in music, particularly with various age groups and skill levels, emphasizing young beginners. Experience in group teaching and familiarity with diverse musical genres is advantageous.

Skills & Competencies: Excellent communication abilities, cultural awareness, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment

Physical Requirements: Role involves sitting, wrist movement, bending, and occasional lifting and standing.
