Job Overview
Idaho Falls Community Hospital is seeking a dedicated Cath Lab/IR Cardiology Nurse. This role offers a competitive sign-on bonus of up to $15,000.

Position Summary:
The Cath Lab/IR Cardiology Nurse is accountable for assisting cardiologists during diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and interventional procedures. This position involves delivering high-quality nursing care, assessing patient needs, and managing care within the cardiac catheterization lab while also supporting interventional radiology as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough nursing assessments to identify patient needs during care.
  • Perform pre-procedure checks to ensure all clinically significant factors are addressed.
  • Assist physicians during various cardiac procedures, including catheterizations, angioplasties, and pacemaker insertions.
  • Familiarity with specialized devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps and thrombus aspiration systems is essential.
  • Utilize peripheral devices effectively, including IVUS and Flow Wire, as per the defined role.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans and enhance outcomes.
  • Provide care in accordance with established standards, policies, and protocols.
  • Ensure timely and efficient patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Exhibit critical thinking skills to anticipate and address patient care needs.
  • Document all assessments, care delivery, and patient responses accurately in medical records.
  • Engage in performance improvement initiatives to enhance care processes and outcomes.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure in Idaho.
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required.
  • Completion of Basic Dysrhythmia class with a minimum grade of 84% if no prior telemetry experience exists.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiology catheterization lab is preferred.
  • Experience in the evaluation and programming of pacemakers and ICDs is required.
  • Advanced cardiac rhythm interpretation skills are necessary.
