We are seeking an experienced Immunology Team Lead: Disease Biology Expertise to join our Rheumatology team at AbbVie. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing research efforts to identify and validate new therapeutic targets for autoimmune diseases. With your extensive knowledge of immunology and disease biology, you will drive projects from early-stage research to development and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Direct a diverse team of scientists in designing and conducting in vitro and in vivo assays to identify and validate new therapeutic targets for autoimmune diseases.
- Strategy Development: Formulate and implement strategies that align with functional goals and key scientific objectives in discovery immunology research.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues from chemistry, biotherapeutics, genetic medicine, bioanalytical, clinical development, precision medicine, other therapeutic areas, and core support groups.
- Risk Management: Develop strategic plans to mitigate risks collaboratively with key stakeholders to advance programs towards clinical development.
- Project Management: Oversee project activities and professional growth of a team of scientists through effective mentoring, guidance, and supervision.
Requirements
- PhD, MD or MD/PhD in Immunology, Biology, or equivalent field
- 15+ years of related work experience in biotech or pharma
- Extensive industrial research experience with in vitro and in vivo immunological assays
- Discovery program leadership and project conception experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
Salary
The estimated salary range for this position is $230,000 - $330,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
