Key Responsibilities- Drive excellence in patient care by exercising a high level of nursing skill and collaborating with veterinarians on treatment plans.
- Maintain a solid grasp of common veterinary medical terms and abbreviations, and understand and execute treatment plans for outpatient and inpatient care.
- Obtain vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure, and collaborate with veterinarians on abnormalities.
- Display a desire to provide outstanding service and exceed customer expectations, and perform and obtain diagnostics as needed.
- Know commonly-used medications and associated side effects, and perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters as required.
- Show willingness to learn aspects of triage, outpatient, and inpatient care, and participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
- Emergency experience preferred, with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency and specialty care environment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time, with a willingness to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotations.
- Competitive hourly rate of $23.35-$33.60, with opportunities for advancement and professional growth.
