Job Summary

Atrius Health, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Department Team Leader to join our team. As a Pharmacy Department Team Leader, you will be responsible for coordinating the daily support operations of our Pharmacy Department, serving as a working functional supervisor or team leader for Pharmacy support staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the daily support operations of the Pharmacy Department, including managing staff, resources, and workflows.
  • Serve as a working functional supervisor or team leader for Pharmacy support staff, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care, including managing medication inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve department efficiency, productivity, and patient satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including nursing, pharmacy, and administration, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements, industry developments, and best practices in pharmacy operations.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit required.
  • Graduate of an approved pharmacy technician program or institutional/retail pharmacy experience.
  • Must currently be a Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Massachusetts with an active pharmacy technician license without restrictions from the MA Board of Pharmacy.
  • Must currently have an active National Pharmacy Training Certification without restrictions.
  • Must not be listed on the Exclusion Database List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) maintained by the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG).
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of pharmacy support experience required, preferably with at least 2 years of experience in a high volume retail pharmacy or outpatient facility.
  • Leadership potential.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of area of specialty.
  • Must possess working knowledge of pharmacy operations and cash handling experience.
  • Requires knowledge of laws and regulations related to pharmacy practice and patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills are preferred.
  • Must be team-oriented and demonstrate excellent customer service skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and strong interpersonal skills when interacting with patients and colleagues.
  • Sound judgment with the ability to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requires knowledge of medication abbreviation and symbols, common dosage calculations, and storage requirements.
  • Strong computer skills are preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook desirable.
