Job Summary:

First Student Shared Services is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bus Monitor to join our team. As a Bus Monitor, you will be responsible for providing operational oversight and day-to-day management of our school bus routes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the welfare of passengers while in route and communicate any behavior problems or conditions of various stops with the driver.
  • Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus and ensure that all safety protocols are followed.
  • Assist students in the loading and unloading process and maintain a safe and orderly environment on the bus.
  • Cooperate and communicate with school personnel, students, and parents to ensure a positive and safe experience for all.
  • Attend all safety and training meetings to stay up-to-date on the latest protocols and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Good verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Early morning availability and ability to manage high degrees of stress.
  • Judgement/problem solving skills and ability to work independently.
