About the Role

This position involves constructing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on injection molds using prints and sketches as required. The ideal candidate will have experience in CNC programming and operating knowledge, as well as a strong understanding of metal fabrication and machining principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform intricate and detailed welding repairs, color matching, re-spotting, engineering changes, insert work, hand benching, peening, texturing, polishing, and glass spotting.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on injection molds, including disassembly, inspection, repair, and replacement of springs, ejector pins, hydraulic cylinders, limit switches, etc.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and machine manuals to build and repair molds and tools.
  • Fabricate parts with or without sketches and prints using lathe, mill, drill press, and welder.
  • Operate testing equipment, power tools, hand tools, torches, welders, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Perform heat treating of steels, such as hardening, annealing, and drawing.
  • Operate drill press, radial drill, milling machines, lathe, grinder, welder, torch, bench tools, spotting press, boring mill, and CNC mill.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4-year of related experience in CNC programming and operating knowledge or completion of a 4-year apprenticeship program certified by the U.S. Department of Labor.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is strongly preferred.
  • Journeyman Card is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong initiative; sense of ownership and responsibility.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Detail-oriented.
