Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Abuse Specialist/Therapist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive substance abuse assessments, promoting harm reduction and abstinence, and working towards recovery with our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough substance abuse assessments, considering the complex relationship between substance use and mental health.
- Assess and track clients' stages of change readiness and stages of treatment.
- Utilize outreach and motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients in earlier stages of change readiness.
- Facilitate access to 12-step groups and other community supports.
- Employ cognitive behavioral approaches and relapse prevention strategies to work with clients in later stages of change readiness.
- Ensure that treatment approaches are consistent with clients' stages of change readiness.
- Facilitate the Person-Centered Planning process for assigned clients.
- Lead group sessions and participate in first responder on-call systems.
- Represent the company in a positive manner, reflecting our mission and values.
- Ensure confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of the population served
- CCS, CSI, LCAS, LCAS-A, or CADC certification (full certification required)
- Valid NC driver's license and personal vehicle insurance coverage
