IT Security Specialist

Androscoggin Bank is seeking a highly skilled IT Security Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information security and experience with Microsoft 365.
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, located in our operations center in Lewiston. We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 per year, paid time off, holiday pay, and access to excellent benefits, including health insurance, 401(k) participation with a generous match, and tuition reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities
The IT Security Engineer will be responsible for safeguarding the Bank's network and infrastructure, researching and recommending new security technologies, and collaborating with IT leadership to implement security measures. Experience with M365 suite, including MS Entra, Intune, Defender for EndPoint/Office, Purview, and Exchange Online, is required.
We are looking for a candidate who can effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders, develop monitoring and visibility capabilities to identify security incidents and vulnerabilities, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and three to five years of related experience and/or training
- 3+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, education
- Advanced knowledge of Linux, Microsoft Windows 10/11 & Windows Server 2012R2+, Active Directory, firewall multi-layer design and implementation, router access list/packet filtering (Cisco), WANs, LANs, the Internet, Intranets, network protocols and network services (e.g., SSH, SFTP), IDS/IPS, software defined networks, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Enterprise Security management tools, security assessment software
- Industry Security certifications and/or security vendor certifications a plus
