CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - New Braunfels (CSRH-NB) is a premier healthcare facility located in downtown New Braunfels, featuring 94 private beds and a commitment to expanding services to accommodate the growing community. The hospital is equipped with advanced technology and a variety of services, including an Outpatient Imaging Center, orthopedic and surgical care, rehabilitation services, a state-of-the-art birthing center with 24/7 neonatal support, emergency services, wound care/hyperbaric therapy, 3D mammography, and comprehensive cardiac care, from diagnostics to surgical interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Adheres to the OneCHRISTUS Competencies, demonstrating leadership in self-management, team dynamics, or organizational leadership.
• In alignment with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, delivers nursing care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses the increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families, tailored to their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments following established protocols, monitoring for side effects and the effectiveness of prescribed therapies.
• Maintains accurate documentation of patient histories, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Evaluates learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers, identifying relevant issues and resources.

• Coaches staff on accuracy in order processing and validation techniques.
• Plans, directs, and evaluates nursing care and functions within a specific nursing unit during assigned shifts.
• Demonstrates responsible stewardship in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Assesses staffing needs and actively participates in resource allocation efforts.
Safety and Quality Care:
• Incorporates patient safety practices to foster a secure environment that promotes positive patient outcomes.

Qualifications:
Experience:
- Preferred experience in a Perinatal RN Residency or recent practice in a Perinatal Setting.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- All newly hired experienced RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within the first month of employment.
- New hires will be precepted by a designated trained staff member, with initial onboarding validated through successful completion of designated competency validations.
- Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is mandatory.
- Active RN License in the state of employment or compact.
- BLS certification required.
- Current STABLE certification required at the time of hire or prior to the end of orientation for experienced nurses; within 90 days for new graduates.
- Current NRP certification required at the time of hire for experienced nurses; within 60 days for new graduates.
