Job Summary

The Whole Health and Wellness Program Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the administrative missions of the department. As a key member of the team, you will assist the Whole Health and Wellness System Manager/Director in fulfilling the department's objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process clinical proficiencies for various disciplines at Central Arkansas Veterans Health System (CAVHS) with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coordinate, plan, verify, and prepare necessary paperwork for six part folders in a timely manner, ensuring the accuracy of all documents.
  • Facilitate communication with other Services as needed, including Human Resources, Credentialing, and collaborate with Human Resources Management regarding key information needed for boarding.
  • Coordinate and analyze internal review activities of the department to ensure compliance with VISN and Central Office directives and standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between Whole Health and Wellness and all services across CAVHS, with an emphasis on Primary Care (CBOCs), Mental Health, and Specialty Care teams, to ensure the expansion of Whole Health and Wellness to all aspects of Veteran care.
  • Assist the Whole Health and Wellness System Manager/Director with monitoring and maintaining integrated reporting systems affecting various Patient Care Services Product Line programs, functions, and operations that are extensively interrelated.
  • Communicate Whole Health and Wellness Product Line information to the System Manager/Director for effective evaluation of program operations and milestones.
  • Assist with Human Resource management for Whole Health and Wellness, performing the full range of human resources requirements, including recruitment, compensation, promotions, awards, benefits, position classification, performance management, leave administration, training, disciplinary actions, and labor relations.
  • Serve as a contracting office representative for the department and administer contracts of various breadth, obtaining and maintaining COR level 1 certification while appointed to this position.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgeting and financial management for the department, including budget formulation, presentation, and execution, financial management, and financial reporting.
  • Provide advice to the Whole Health and Wellness System Manager/Director and other program personnel on budgetary and finance issues, maintaining awareness of and information about the overall status of financial resources for the service.
Requirements
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
  • Applicants may substitute education for the required experience, with a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement or one full year of graduate-level education.
  • Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level.
Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, with occasional off-tours and/or weekends may be required, subject to change based on the needs of the agency.
