Job Summary

Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at our Brooklyn location. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for assisting physicians in performing a variety of interventional radiology procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures in compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Review patient-specific procedure orders to determine necessary materials and supplies.
  • Set up and stock procedure rooms and procedure trays with necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Conduct patient preparations and document as necessary.
  • Assist physicians during interventional procedures and administer fluoroscopy as needed.
  • Comply with HIPAA policies and standards regarding patient confidentiality.
  • Process x-ray images and archive to the image repository.
  • Provide outstanding quality of patient care by supporting and driving the organization's quality standards.
  • Assist with implementing quality goals and facility-specific action plans.
  • Ensure medical records are accurate, complete, and in compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree desirable; and Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.
  • Current ARRT Certification and/or State Licensure (as per state regulations).
  • Interventional Radiology certificate preferred.
  • 4 – 6 years' related experience desirable.
  • 1 year experience preferred for Candidates with ARRT.
  • Working knowledge of interventional equipment (including C-Arm and Ultrasound equipment).
  • Experience with interventional procedures, using/ordering/maintaining required materials/supplies for each procedure.
  • Knowledge and experience of sterile techniques.
  • Knowledge of universal precautions and personal protective devices to be utilized when operating radiology systems.
  • Successfully complete BLS certification.
  • Experience with monitoring and maintaining inventory.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and related software such as Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
Working Conditions
  • The work environment is characteristic of a health care facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels.
  • May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials.
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and to perform patient transfers and positioning of patients.
