Position Overview

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will report directly to the CEO and serve as a key strategic partner in overseeing the financial well-being of the organization. This role involves managing financial operations and advancing our long-term financial strategies, controls, and policies to create a solid financial foundation for the company's future growth. The CFO will be a trusted financial advisor to the CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Leadership: As a member of the executive team, provide valuable insights on critical strategic decisions. Engage actively in the planning, approval, revision, and implementation of corporate growth strategies and policies.
  2. Revenue Enhancement: Collaborate with the CEO to identify new market expansion opportunities and evaluate growth hypotheses. Conduct financial assessments of potential business opportunities, including negotiations of amendments to existing and new customer contracts.
  3. Financial Planning and Analysis: Deliver regular financial reporting and analysis to staff and board members. Develop, monitor, and maintain essential financial metrics. Partner with the CEO to set and communicate annual financial objectives across the organization.
  4. Accounting Oversight: Supervise all accounting functions to ensure accurate revenue recognition and compliance with GAAP. Conduct quarterly financial reviews with department leaders. Prepare revenue forecasts, monthly management reports, budgets, and board presentations.
  5. Operational Management: Play a pivotal role in managing the daily financial operations of the organization.
  6. Compliance and Audit Management: Ensure that appropriate controls are in place and oversee the quarterly and annual audit processes. Maintain accurate global compliance.
Qualifications

Essential Knowledge and Experience:

  1. A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated success in a VP Finance, VP-Controller, or CFO role, particularly in a high-tech environment, leading a global financial planning process and engaging with business leaders at all levels.
  2. At least 5 years of recent finance management experience within a SaaS company, ideally with a history of rapid revenue growth.
  3. Experience in revenue generation and investment strategies, along with M&A experience.
  4. Comprehensive understanding of internal versus external reporting requirements.
  5. Technical expertise in software revenue recognition.
  6. A proven track record in structuring and negotiating venture financing, strategic investments, and M&A opportunities.
  7. History of successfully scaling an early-stage revenue company, demonstrated through business achievements, accurate forecasting, and timely process controls.
  8. Extensive knowledge of GAAP accounting frameworks and reporting standards, internal financial management, internal controls, and accounting software systems. Familiarity with SFDC and Hyperion is preferred.
  9. Proven success as a business leader, providing value beyond traditional finance and accounting roles.
  10. Exceptional project management and organizational capabilities.
  11. International experience is advantageous.
  12. A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required. An MBA and/or CPA is preferred.
  13. Experience with a successful IPO is a significant advantage.
