Position Overview:

The Core Banking Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in the oversight and upkeep of essential banking software and related products. This role serves as the primary support for both the Associate Analyst and Senior Analyst positions within the Enterprise Information Systems team. The Analyst is tasked with providing daily Level I and II assistance for the hardware and operating systems that underpin the Core Banking applications and their infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and monitor mission-critical systems within the Enterprise Information Systems Department in a high-availability setting.
  • Assist in configuring and maintaining user access on core banking applications and related products.
  • Act as a backup for System Security Administration tasks and manage print queues.
  • Work collaboratively with IT staff to deliver services and resolve related issues.
  • Serve as the backup contact for Core Banking issues directed to the Enterprise Information Systems Department.
  • Monitor system health and performance metrics, analyze performance reports, and streamline reporting processes.
  • Ensure successful implementation and monitoring of system enhancements to boost the efficiency of Enterprise Information Systems.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Analyst to assess and enhance EIS department system operations, providing recommendations for improved service delivery.
  • Document processes and procedures related to the systems managed by the Enterprise Information Systems Department.
  • Follow established Change Management Policies in collaboration with the Senior Analyst, performing installations, upgrades, configurations, and administration for Enterprise Information Systems applications and hardware.
  • Guarantee user satisfaction by adhering to Service Level Agreements through proactive identification and resolution of potential issues.
  • Assist in maintaining high availability and security for business applications, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures aligned with the organization's mission and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in backup and recovery operations for all infrastructure and networking functions within the department, including involvement in disaster recovery drills.
  • Support other IT team members with system administration tasks as needed.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the Associate Analyst and other IT personnel.
  • Be available for after-hours and weekend support as required.
  • Carry out compliance and risk management responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate strong writing skills to document technical requirements, processes, and updates.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of general banking practices.
  • Serve as backup for other technical roles as necessary.
  • Assist with special projects or additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; professional certification or relevant experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience with IBM midrange systems, with current knowledge of Power/IBM i V7+.
  • Experience in hardware installation and system performance optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with MIMIX High Availability/Disaster Recovery technology.
  • Knowledge of security vulnerabilities related to Power/IBM i and remediation practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey information and respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently, communicate effectively, collaborate with others, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and integrity.
