Job Description

Turner & Townsend Group is seeking an experienced construction professional to work with a key technology client on a large-scale Data Center construction program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work effectively and negotiate costs with Contractors.
  • Use industry-leading estimating tools to perform all aspects of estimating, analysis, and verification of contractor costs.
  • Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects, ensuring timely and accurate cost checking and valuation processes.
  • Provide input into value engineering, negotiate, and approve final costs.
  • Collaborate with the Cost team, be flexible, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Client interaction and communication, initiate, and conduct stakeholder meetings.
Pre-Contract Responsibilities:
  • Review cost plans and estimates through the design phase, delivering updated cost plans at appropriate design milestones.
  • Provide commercial input to design optioneering and input into value engineering exercises.
  • Review contractor and subcontractor pricing and lead negotiations on behalf of the client to drive fair contract prices.
Post-Contract Responsibilities:
  • Perform cost controls and change management activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure that post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively.
  • Ensure that cost auditing and valuation work is managed effectively, and a robust process for cost validation is in place.
  • Carry out the production of monthly cost reports for presentation to the client.
  • Ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed in a timely manner.
  • Compile as-built cost estimate records for benchmarking purposes.
Requirements:
  • Computer-based estimating software experience.
  • Good knowledge of construction procurement.
  • Good knowledge and experience gained within several industry sectors.
  • Team player - Demonstrate solid presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Advanced G-Suite and Microsoft Office skills. Great with spreadsheets.
  • Good organization skills, ability to multitask, and be a team player.
Education/Experience:
  • Technical work experience or college degree in Cost Estimating, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Data Center or relatable (i.e., industrial) construction experience is strongly preferred.
  • Management experience is beneficial.
  • Understanding of CSA cost estimating.
  • Strong understanding of all civils, structural, and architectural systems.
  • Field experience is an advantage.
Additional Information:

The salary range for this full-time role is $110K-$140K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate's experience and qualifications.
