Job Summary

UPMC is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in New Castle, PA. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures. Your attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and commitment to patient care will make you an invaluable asset to our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures
  • Assist surgeons and surgical assistants during procedures
  • Pass instruments, sponges, and sutures to surgeons and surgical assistants
  • Prepare and restock operating room supplies
  • Assist in the cleanup of the operating room
  • Check and restock equipment
  • Assist in the preparation and care of specimens
  • Apply dressings and assist with patient transfers
Requirements
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Technologist Surgery Certified (TSC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
