Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Medical Payment Specialist to accurately and efficiently handle patient accounts and ensure proper billing. As a Payment Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing Explanation of Benefits to post payments accurately, utilizing Excel and ten-key calculator effectively, and managing patient files in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process and post payments on patient accounts
- Analyze Explanation of Benefits to ensure proper payment data is entered
- Handle zero payments, denials, and rejections to expedite the appeals and denial process
- Assist in the payment reconciliation process
- Utilize Excel spreadsheets and ten-key calculator for accurate calculations
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines when handling patient files
- Perform other assigned responsibilities as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in the healthcare field
- Proficiency in using Excel and ten-key calculator efficiency
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and patient privacy regulations
