Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist-RRT/CRT is a skilled healthcare professional responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. This individual will work under the supervision of a physician and in accordance with hospital-approved procedures and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Administer pharmacologic, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care to implement or modify diagnostic regimes, treatment, disease prevention, or pulmonary rehabilitation of patients.
2. Use medical gases, air-oxygen apparatus, humidification, and aerosol administration devices, and ventilatory assistance-control equipment to provide therapeutic care.
3. Perform pulmonary function testing, nocturnal desaturation studies, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation as needed.
4. Maintain accurate documentation and charging procedures in accordance with hospital and departmental procedures.

Requirements:

  • Education: Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy
  • Licensure/Certification: Registration (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), valid Missouri Respiratory Care Practitioner license, and current BLS certification
  • Work Experience: No work experience beyond educational clinical experience required
