Job Description

Globally operating company seeks a highly skilled Environmental Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the environmental team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and developing strategies to minimize the company's environmental footprint.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate permitting processes with operations, project management, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Effectively communicate and enforce regulatory requirements and permit conditions.
  • Prepare, review, and submit reports as required.
  • Monitor and inspect construction contractors to ensure compliance with environmental management plans.
  • Develop and secure variances or alternative operating conditions to prevent enforcement actions.
  • Investigate environmental incidents using causal learning and root cause analysis to implement corrective measures.
  • Lead or participate in ongoing engineering development to ensure compliance with environmental requirements and permits.
  • Report deviations or exceedances to relevant regulatory agencies as stipulated by permits or other requirements.
Requirements:
  • BSc in Environmental Engineering, Metallurgical Eng., Chemical Eng., Eng. Environmental Sciences, or related.
  • At least 8 years of experience.
  • Experience with Environmental compliance of greenfield projects, including construction, contractor compliance, stormwater and environmental regulations compliance.
  • Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, environmental and safety requirements, and experience working with local, state, and federal agencies.
