Cytotechnologist Specialist

The Cytotechnologist 1 plays a crucial role in the laboratory, performing screening of gynecological cytology specimens and rendering an appropriate diagnosis. This position requires the ability to triage abnormal gynecologic cases to pathologists, ensuring timely and accurate results. Additionally, the Cytotechnologist 1 pre-screens non-gynecologic cytology cases for pathologist review, participating in quality control initiatives and assisting as needed in various laboratory functions.
Key Responsibilities
• Completes screening and computer entry of diagnosis for gynecological and non-gynecological cases.
• Participates in cytology department's quality assurance and quality control program.
• Assists others in the laboratory as needed, contributing to a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
• Less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
• Certification in Cytology (ASCP-CT) or Specialist in Cytology (SCT) from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
