Crown's Food Division is one of the leading manufacturers of food cans in the world. Our comprehensive range of food packaging serves various markets, including fruit, vegetables, dairy, fish, meat, ready meals, pet food, infant milk powder, and other dry food products.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Supervisor to lead our manufacturing team in the Food Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the production of high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise activities of equipment and workforce to optimize Safety, Quality, Productivity, Spoilage, and Employee Engagement.
  • Communicate effectively between departments and shifts on changes to equipment, production schedules, production problems, or any other related information.
  • Work with employees to identify, discuss, and implement solutions to machinery and equipment problems.
  • Perform and facilitate on-the-job training, coaching, and performance management of employees as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of various processes, production methods, and processes to improve plant production.
  • Manage machinery setup and adjustment and inspect products to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Oversee quality and recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal performance within equipment limits.
  • Complete and/or administer necessary documentation, such as production sheets, pallet ticketing, job progressions, disciplinary actions, monthly SAFE cards, time and attendance, accident reports, and process control sheets.
Requirements
  • High School Education/GED
  • Five to seven years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
  • At least three years of proven leadership experience
  • Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Packaging industry experience
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, SPC, and Lean Manufacturing
Competencies
  • Strong problem-solving skills through individual and/or collaborative approaches
  • Ability to work independently or with a team
  • Capacity to think outside the box and develop new solutions
  • Effective leadership skills, including conflict resolution, communication, decision-making, and employee relations
  • Excellent time management and project management skills, as well as the ability to multitask
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of various Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
