Division OverviewCrown's Food Division is a leading manufacturer of food cans globally. Our comprehensive range of food packaging serves various markets, including fruit, vegetables, dairy, fish, meat, ready meals, pet food, infant milk powder, and other dry food products. We offer a wide selection of food cans, from round to bowl-shaped cans, and focus on excellence.
Job OverviewWe are seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead our manufacturing team at the Hanover Plant. Reporting directly to the Plant Superintendent, this role is responsible for ensuring the production of high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and supervise activities of equipment and workforce to optimize Safety, Quality, Productivity, Spoilage, and Employee Engagement.
- Communicate pertinent information between departments and shifts on changes to equipment, production schedules, production problems, or other related information.
- Work with employees to identify, discuss, and implement solutions to machinery and equipment problems.
- Perform and facilitate on-the-job training, coaching, and performance management of employees as needed.
- Apply knowledge of various processes, production methods, and processes to improve plant production.
- Manage machinery setup and adjustment and inspect products to ensure compliance with standards.
- Oversee quality and recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal performance within equipment limits.
- Complete and/or administer necessary documentation, such as production sheets, pallet ticketing, job progressions, disciplinary actions, monthly SAFE cards, time and attendance, accident reports, and process control sheets.
- High School Education/GED
- Five to seven years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
- At least three years of proven leadership experience
- Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support
- Bachelor's degree
- Packaging industry experience
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, SPC, and Lean Manufacturing
- Strong problem-solving skills through individual and/or collaborative approaches
- Ability to work independently or with a team
- Effective leadership skills, including conflict resolution, communication, decision-making, and employee relations
- Excellent time management and project management skills, as well as the ability to multi-task
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of various Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Working ConditionsGenerally works in a plant environment but will be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic. The employee may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is frequently loud.
