The Degree Audit Specialist is a non-exempt, full-time staff position at Chapman University. The Specialist is responsible for degree audit and curriculum maintenance and support to the University Office of the Registrar.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Course Requisites: The Specialist will update course requisites.

  • Conferral Email Management: The Specialist will manage the conferral email account.
  • Coordination with Diploma Production Processor: The Degree Audit Specialist will coordinate with the diploma production processor.

Enrollment and Degree Reporting to National Student Clearinghouse (NSC):

  • Process Daily Degree Verify Requests: The Degree Audit Specialist will process daily degree verify requests from NSC.
  • Submit Reporting Files: The Specialist will submit reporting files based on established calendars.
  • Process In-School Deferment Request Submissions: The Degree Audit Specialist will process in-school deferment request submissions.
  • Liaison between Registrar's Office and NSC & NSLDS: The Specialist will serve as a liaison between the registrar's office and NSC & NSLDS for enrollment reporting.
  • Provide Degree Completion Letters for SACM Requests: The Degree Audit Specialist will provide degree completion letters for SACM requests.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree: The Degree Audit Specialist must hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Automated Degree Audit Program Experience: The Specialist must have a minimum of two years of work experience with an automated degree audit program, preferably PeopleSoft.
  • Collegiate Curriculum Knowledge: The Degree Audit Specialist must have a working knowledge of collegiate curriculum, academic program structures, and graduation requirements.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: The Specialist must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidentiality and Communication Skills: The Degree Audit Specialist must be able to maintain confidentiality and use tact and diplomacy when interacting with diverse constituents.
  • Complex Academic Policies and Procedures: The Specialist must be able to learn and apply complex academic policies and procedures.
  • Attention to Detail and Organizational Skills: The Degree Audit Specialist must have attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: The Specialist must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex information in an understandable manner.
  • Time Management and Prioritization: The Degree Audit Specialist must be able to manage a high-volume, detail-oriented workload with established deadlines.
  • Microsoft Office Suite Applications: The Specialist must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Enterprise Systems and Departmental Tools: The Degree Audit Specialist must be able to learn and use enterprise systems and departmental tools.
