The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE). As a key member of our team, you will provide best practices on secure foundational cloud implementations, automated provisioning of infrastructure and applications, cloud-ready application architectures, and more.

Main Responsibilities

  • Create cloud-based infrastructure required by the software team in Azure using infrastructure as code.
  • Work in a CI/CD environment.
  • Refine, evangelize, and deliver on Lumen's multi-cloud operating model vision and strategy.
  • Partner in the delivery of cloud-based technical architectures, migration approaches, and application optimizations that enable business objectives.
  • Evolving and driving our automation capabilities by enabling a DevOps and SRE culture.
  • Hands-on technical lead to guide, mentor, and coach.
  • Participate in meetings and conferences to gather requirements and discuss architectural decisions.
  • Apply a thorough understanding of deploying and managing application lifecycles to interpret customer business needs and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems or related field or the equivalent in training and experience.
  • 4+ years' experience designing, building, and deploying scalable cloud-based solutions in Azure (or comparable cloud).
  • 4+ years' experience in combined roles of cloud engineer, infrastructure engineer, DevOps engineering, SRE or application development.
  • Scripting language development experience (BASH, etc).
  • Expertise with automating infrastructure provisioning and/or continuous integration/delivery.
  • Experience using infrastructure as code preferably with Terraform. Experience with native cloud technologies (ARM, Cloudformation, etc.) or other multi-cloud tools like Pulumi is appreciated.
  • Experience one or more languages, such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, C++, or similar.
  • Excellent experience in the application of cloud architectures and IT security principles.
  • Public Trust clearance is required for this position.

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.
