Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Exercise Physiologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team at Penn State Health. As an Exercise Physiologist, you will be responsible for performing various stress tests and non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures, utilizing your clinical knowledge and professional judgment to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer treadmill and ergometer protocols for stress tests, including monitoring, recording, and interpreting EKG tracings for diagnostic purposes.
  • Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and respond according to emergency protocols, utilizing BLS and ACLS skills and obtaining emergency medical equipment as needed.
  • Maintain operational knowledge of Noninvasive Cardiology equipment and troubleshoot issues as necessary.
  • Perform clerical duties, including scheduling procedures, inventory management, and transport tracking.
  • Train and precept new employees in the performance of diagnostic procedures.
  • Perform electrocardiograms and possess knowledge of rhythm recognition to notify physicians of abnormal EKGs and patient conditions.
  • Maintain clinical information and enter and retrieve patient data from software applications and EMR specific to testing being done.
Requirements
  • Master of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology or other Allied Health-related degree required.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification) required within six months of hire.
  • CPR/BLS certificate for Health Care Providers required.
  • A minimum of 6 months clinical cardiovascular experience or equivalent internship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CSM (American College of Sports Medicine) Exercise Specialist Certification desired.
  • Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP) or AACVPR (American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation) Certification.
  • Certified Cardiac Rehab Professional desired.
