Position: CICS Administration

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated expertise as a CICS System Programmer, proficient in managing CICS regions across various Systems/LPARs.
  • In-depth knowledge of CICS parameters that influence performance within a CICS Plex environment.
  • Familiarity with CICS SMF record structure and the CICS Performance Analyzer tool for gathering essential statistics to optimize CICS regions.
  • Experience in implementing and customizing CICS Plex SM, including dynamic transaction routing.
  • Exposure to the installation, upgrading, and maintenance of CICS and associated products.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining CICS regions while analyzing CICS system logs.
  • Defining and maintaining CICS system tables.
  • Proficient in Assembler and COBOL coding, with knowledge of CICS Exits.
  • Providing web application support in a CICS TS V5 environment.
  • Utilizing traces for problem determination and effectively interpreting trace entries.
  • Ability to conduct problem determination, dump analysis, and performance tuning on CICS regions.
  • Solid understanding and working knowledge of z/OS, TSO, ISPF, SMP/E, DB2, JCL, and basic COBOL scripting.
  • Familiarity with zOS facilities such as APF, Linklist, VSAM, LPA, and Coupling Facility.
  • Knowledge in Mainframe MQ Administration is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of zOS & CICS Explorer.
  • Good grasp of ITIL modules including Incident Management, Change Management, and Problem Management.
