We are seeking a highly skilled Public Affairs Specialist to join our team at the Department of the Interior. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communications strategies to promote the mission and goals of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement communications plans to promote the mission and goals of the Department of the Interior
- Collaborate with regional directors and assistant directors to develop and implement effective communications strategies
- Represent the Department of the Interior in establishing and maintaining close and effective government relationships with Tribes within the region
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the regional Office of Communications program and make improvements to internal operations to enhance the program and support the Service's mission
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade-level in the Federal service
- Experience in overseeing a public affairs and communications program for an organization to highlight the mission and accomplishments of an agency/organization
- Experience in working with stakeholder audiences that include Tribal governments, federal/state/local agencies
- Experience in planning, researching, coordinating and producing written and visual informational materials
