Nexus, a pioneering scientific project in verifiable computing, seeks an accomplished Senior Cryptography Engineer to spearhead the development of cutting-edge zero-knowledge proof systems and cryptographic protocols. Location: San Francisco

Job Overview

This role requires a highly skilled individual with a strong mathematics background and expertise in implementing high-performance cryptography solutions, primarily in Rust. As a Senior Cryptography Engineer at Nexus, you will contribute to shaping the future of computation by designing and implementing robust, safe, and efficient production-grade code.

Responsibilities
  • Cryptography Development: Implement advanced zero-knowledge cryptography systems, including zero-knowledge proof systems, vector/polynomial commitment schemes, lookup arguments, arithmetic circuits, and zkSNARKs/zkSTARKs in Rust.
  • Research and Implementation: Stay at the forefront of cryptography research, following the latest advancements in zero-knowledge proofs and implementing them in our products.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with our research and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration with our products, partners, and clients.
Qualifications
  • Education: Master's or Ph.D. in Cryptography, Formal Methods, or a related field of Computer Science.
  • Experience: Expert experience with Rust, having shipped production-level code, and proficiency in C/C++/Go. Experience in implementing production-grade cryptography is also required.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to convey complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and a high-energy startup mentality.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $200,000 - $300,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include competitive equity compensation, immersion in a dynamic startup culture, and relocation assistance for candidates based outside San Francisco.
