Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team as a Simulated Patient. In this role, you will be responsible for performing as a simulated patient during practical examinations, using standardized patient cases provided by the course instructor.

Responsibilities
  • Perform as a simulated patient during practical examinations, using standardized patient cases provided by the course instructor.
  • Review patient case materials in advance of the date of service to ensure a quality student experience.
  • Use the College email account assigned to the member and check that account on a daily basis.
  • Adhere to all FERPA regulations.
  • Complete all mandatory annual education required by the institution.
Qualifications
  • Student or Graduate of an accredited PT or PTA program, or deemed equivalent program.
  • Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and counseling skills.
  • Current knowledge and skill in the use of information and computer technology (e.g., word processing, e-mail, database) or proven ability to learn these skills.
  • Able to work with students with special needs based on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal and practice issues affecting clinical education, students, and the profession of physical therapy.
  • Able to work independently and coordinate work with colleagues and peers.
Preferred Attributes
  • Licensed PT or PTA in any US state.
  • Member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Prior teaching experience in PT or PTA program or equivalent coursework.
  • Knowledge of education, management, and adult learning theories and principles.
  • Active in clinical practice, especially as applicable to clinical education.
  • Active in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels.
