Job Summary:

The Patient Service Representative plays a vital role in ensuring a positive patient experience at Ballad Health Medical Associates. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for greeting patients and visitors, registering patients, and performing various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Update and schedule patient appointments
• Retrieve daily patient data for appointments and phone calls
• Maintain provider schedules
• File charts/medical records, copy charts/forms, and pull charts
• Produce documents for providers to sign
• Collect co-pays and perform data entry of office visit charges
• Perform collections of unpaid balances and code encounter forms with proper payment distribution CPT & ICD-10 codes
• File and refile insurance claims, reconcile the charge sheet, and count the cash drawer
• Prepare bank deposits, balance credit cards, and review and correct errors on the missing ticket report

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience performing data entry and utilizing a database
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality/HIPAA and communicate respectfully/kindly with patients, office staff, nurses, and medical staff

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 codes/billing
• Previous experience utilizing an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system

Work Requirements:

• Shift: Day
• On Call: No
• Weekends: No
• Travel Required: 10% Of Work Time
