Job SummaryThis is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of youth in a juvenile detention facility. As an Instructional Assistant, you will work under the direction of a classroom teacher to provide educational support to students in grades 6-12.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in supervising classroom and community activities of incarcerated students, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
- Present instructional material to individual students or small groups, under the teacher's direction.
- Relieve the teacher of routine clerical duties, allowing them to focus on instructional responsibilities.
- Successful interaction with children in a classroom or other structured setting, preferably within a juvenile detention environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent, and two years of college (48 units), or A.A. degree (or higher), or pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction.
