Job Summary

The Bartender is a key member of our hospitality team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences and ensuring the smooth operation of our lounge/bar area.

Responsibilities
  • Verify customer identification to ensure compliance with age requirements for alcohol sales.
  • Present menus, answer questions, and take food and beverage orders from guests and/or serving staff.
  • Prepare drink orders, including wine, liquor, and beer, to exacting standards.
  • Prepare appetizers and food items according to recipes and standards.
  • Monitor seating in the lounge/bar area to ensure all guests are served promptly and efficiently.
  • Compute bills, accept payment, and track sales receipts.
  • Implement strategies to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking.
  • Clean bars, work areas, and tables, as well as glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and lounge station.
  • Plan, organize, and control the operations of the lounge/bar area.
  • Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
  • Arrange bottles and glasses to create attractive displays.
  • Create innovative drink recipes.
  • Conduct weekly inventories of liquor, food supplies, and equipment, and order or requisition supplies as needed.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of temperature logs and waste logs.
  • Verify the quality and quantity of foodstuffs and supplies to meet established standards and specifications.
  • Ensure proper reporting of tips for tax processing.
Requirements
  • Three to six months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop alternative solutions and use reason in emotional situations.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations.
  • High level of professionalism, with the ability to treat others with respect and consideration.
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret and follow policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety and security procedures.
  • Ability to present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule, with occasional flexibility to work outside of regular hours.
