Position Overview

At Cedars-Sinai, our distinguished pathologists and clinical researchers provide exceptional patient care, education, and scientific inquiry. Our team employs advanced methodologies to ensure precise and timely diagnoses across all domains of anatomic and clinical pathology, including insights into optimal treatment strategies and prognostic evaluations.

Are you prepared to contribute to pioneering research?

In this role, you will work autonomously while closely collaborating with the Principal Investigator and fellow Research Scientists. The Research Fellow will execute both standard and intricate laboratory techniques throughout the training phase. Responsibilities include data analysis and interpretation, as well as potential involvement in grant proposal development. You will also have opportunities to contribute to scholarly publications and presentations as an author or co-author.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals, though not responsible for securing funding.
  • Engage in scholarly publications and presentations as an author or co-author.
  • Design and conduct experiments, maintaining accurate experimental records and documentation while analyzing results in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.
  • Develop, modify, and implement innovative research techniques and protocols.
  • Analyze, interpret, summarize, and compile research data.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.

Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • Doctorate (MD, PhD, VMD, or DDS) in a field directly related to the area of research specialization.

Experience & Skills:

  • Robust background in Innate Immunology or biochemistry, with evidence of first-author publications in reputable scientific journals.
  • Preferred experience with biochemical methodologies and immune-relevant animal models.
  • Ability to work independently on research initiatives designed by a mentor (typically the Principal Investigator) within the area of expertise.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the research project and objectives during a one to five (1-5) year post-doctoral tenure.
  • Demonstrated capability to execute experimental protocols and procedures, including meticulous data collection, analysis, and the operation and upkeep of specialized equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and the maintenance of specialized laboratory equipment.
